Description

We are assisting a customer in selling a few vintage trombones.
We are basing the brand of this instrument off the customers word that her father bought the instrument directly from Grand Rapids Band Instrument Company in the early 1900's.
Customer provided a serial number of 18003, but we can't find any markings anywhere on the instrument.
The trombone is in good working condition and physical condition. Tuning slide moves smoothly. Main slide works well with lots of lubrication.  May need some additional cleaning or maintenance.  Doesn't appear to be any significant damage to the instrument.  Several minor dings throughout instrument.
Comes with the picture mouthpiece that does say "G.R. Band Inst. Co.  Grand Rapids, Mich."
It does come with the pictured leather case which is fully functional.
Please feel free to ask for any details to help make sure you know exactly what you are getting.
From the customer (we were asked to list this, but we are only responsible for the information above) :
Grand Rapids small bore Tenor trombone #18003 from the turn of the 1900's.   It is silver with a couple small dents on the lower bell, and a couple small dents on the top of the bell.  Slides are worn, but are playable.  The slides have a couple ares were the silver has worn off.   It does not have a counter balance and is about 2-3 inches shorter than a regular tenor trombone.   The case is brown leather and is a rifle style case where you put the horn in from the top. The cover has had the straps replace and the mouthpiece straps into the cover.  The mouthpiece only says Grand Rapids Instrument Co. and has some wear marks on the outer rim.
