    Description

This is an amazing artifact of “golden-age” opera/classical music! This is a recital program of Jussi Bjoerling, the iconic, velvet-voiced Swedish tenor that died too young. This is a recital presented by the Community Concert Association, and Metripolitan Opera Association. I am not sure of the exact dates, but it must have been in the early 1940s, as it described Bjoerling as still in his early 30s.
The program cites that for this recital, Bjoerling was the “first important artist to return to America from [Europe]...,” after being “marooned [there] for four years because of the war.” A piece of history.
The program is in amazing condition, having been stored in an old Victrolla opera book for many years. I will send the book to the winner of this auction, as well.
