Description
This listing is for a vintage cigar cutter that was made in Germany in the early 1900's. As shown it has 1 hole for cutting that is approx 3/8" in diameter. I am unsure if the blade will actually cut a cigar & I have not tried. This cutter is being sold as a collectible piece. Weight is 10.5oz. The base is about 4 1/2" x 2 1/2". Height is about 1 3/4". When you push the lever down the blade moves forward to cut the cigars and the clipping falls below. On the bottom as shown is a swivel door where you can empty the clippings. I think the base is cast iron and nickle plated, but I am not sure. Either way it has a wonderful design & is in outstanding condition with a great patina.DRGM 68780 is Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster which means German Empire of use & is a utility patent for commercially applicable inventions. This mark can be found on many antique items made in Germany & Austria from 1891 until about 1945. If you go right from the swivel door to the edge of the cutter you see the numbers 6354. I have no idea what this number represents.
